Who walked these woods before it was Wintergreen? Try your hand at Native American skills and crafts to see if you have what it took to survive here before European settlers arrived.

What's Bugging You?
Date: Saturday, August 17

Don't know a butterfly from a dragonfly? Can't tell a beetle from a bumble bee? Well, join the fun of an insect hunt where our catch-and-release bug pals will help us understand more about who they are and how important they are to the woods around us.

WILD! Adventurers

Time: 1 pm – 4 pm
Cost: $20 members, $25 nonmembers (per event)

Flower Power

Sure, they're pretty... but what good are flowers? Fun games along the trail show us the reasons for flowers, what they do in the woods around us, and how to behave when we encounter a wild flower in the woods.

Art of Archaeology
Date: Saturday, July 27

How do we know what we know about the Native Americans that lived, worked and played in the place we now call Wintergreen? See how Wintergreen's Archaeology Project works, what we've learned, and how you can help with hands-on science practice techniques and Native American-inspired art projects.

GPS Bug Off
Date: Saturday, August 17

Spend the afternoon as an entomologist, a scientist who studies insects. Hit the trail for plenty of bug-hunting and encounters with real-life bugs to see what they have to teach us. Along the way, we'll also do several fun activities to help us find out more about our six-legged friends.
