Winter Lecture Series: A Cradle for Democracy

The Wintergreen Nature Foundation and the Historical Society of Nelson County partner for our 2010 Winter Lecture Series. Previous programs brought the young nation through the “times that tried the souls of men” and the Revolutionary period. This year's programs explore events in our fledgling country and our county during the tumultuous years of Jefferson's presidency. Little known facets of history will be uncovered, enacted by individuals who are, in some cases, direct descendants of the founding families of Nelson County. Join us as we recreate the lives and times of our forefathers and explore the characters and events that shaped our state and county. February 13 and March 20, 2010.

Spring Wildflower Symposium

In the early spring before the trees are full, the hillsides are warmed by the sun and the wildflowers are in full bloom. Experience this special time at Wintergreen by attending the Spring Wildflower Symposium May 14-16, 2010. Instructors for the weekend include well known botanists, authors, and artists, each prepared with a full weekend of activities and lectures that will reconnect you with nature

WILD! Adventures

Each of our summer activities are designed to excite the budding naturalist within through fun, laughter, and learning. We look forward to making new discoveries with your child. The magic of Wintergreen will captivate your child's imagination as they discover the Blue Ridge Mountains with the Wintergreen Nature Foundation.
