Escape the heat of central Virginia as we journey to the West Virginia Highlands to see the virgin spruce forest of Guadineer Knob. The Guadineer Scenic Area is a slice of New England atop the peaks of our neighbor to the west. This peaceful habitat is home to a variety of beautiful wildflowers, wood warblers, snowshoe hare, northern flying squirrels, and the rare Cheat Mountain salamander. Be sure to bring lunch, plenty of water, and money for dinner. The hike is rated moderate. $15/Member, $20/Non-Member.
